American Museum of Natural History

We just returned from a trip visiting family in New York City. We took the boys to the American Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium.

One of the wonderful gifts of parenting is seeing the world through your childrens’ eyes. We saw the African Mammals, dinosaur bones, and two special exhibits, “Mythical Creatures,” and “Frogs.” The frog exhibit was astounding — some of them were tiny, an inch long, in colors ranging from lemon yellow to cobalt blue. One of the frogs was labled as the most poisonous creature on earth given its size. Pretty cool.
We moved on to the Planetarium and saw a fantastic movie called “Cosmic Collisions.” It was projected on to a domed ceiling, and all those cataclysmic explosions were pretty exciting — not only for 7 year old boys, but for their mama too.
